Well, I have finally figured out this whole digital camera thing.

I was going to post this in the EDC carry thread, but didn't want to highjack that thread. When you use the UBB image code the URL for the picture needs to be correct. For the EDC picture it should be:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y69/dynamo333/EDC.jpg

Now as a picture:

Picture 2:

Picture 3:

Picture 4:

I hope that helps.

some thoughts;

Missing or assumed: cell phone charger, paper list of phone numbers, change for phone, tolls, etc. Map of area + topo maps. Minor repair tools. jacket. spare keys.

I don't know what enviorment you're in but I might add: a blanket or sleeping bag, change of work clothes, gloves, hat, water

Your kit seems to be focuses on wilderness survival rather than urban.

hope this helps...

PS what training have you had to supplement this equipment?

Yeah, I left out some stuff that is in my truck. This kit serves in the case of a get out and wlak type scenario. I.E. major tornado damage - roads closed.

In my truck is also:

Cell Phone Charger
Rain Jacket and Pants
3 D Cell Mag Lite
Tool Kit
50' 3/8" nylon rope
12 webbing tie downs
Work gloves
Always 2L of H2O, unopened in bottles.
5' x 8' tarp
8' x 10' tarp

I need to add a change of work clothes, a 1st aid kit, and sportsman's blanket, amongst some other things.

The kit is more wilderness oriented. This is due to the walking nature of the scenario I am most likely to encounter.

Training - I backpack regularly and for the past 4 years. What training can be had with this equipment other than map and compass skills, fire starting ability, and the abilty to pitch a tarp? I use all of this equipment, in duplicate, when I am out of doors.

I have considered supplementing this pouch kit with some beef jerky and a 1L water bladder and spending the night out. While this won't be too comfortable, it is certainly doable.

"Training ideas --please choose from the following menu of options..."

basic first aid/cpr - I am CPR certified and have taken a 1st aid course at the local state college.
survival/ primitive skills - Firestarting, Water procurrement, shelter building are all abilities I posess.
orienteering - I am plenty skilled with a map and compass, learning as I wen twhen I strted backpacking supplemented by the book "How to be an Expert with Map and Compass", available just about anywhere.
edible plants course - Have no experience here. That is a good idea.
tracking 101 - Could use more skill here, however I have extensive hunting experience
swimming, cycling, canoeing, whatever transportation is appropiate. - Some trivia for you: Alabama has the most navigable waterways of any state. I have been canoeing off and on my entire life. Furthermore, I believe that in any bug in scenario, I would prefer to be on foot. Last weekend, I completed a 53 mile hike in 3 days. 22 miles the first day, 19 the second and 12 the third. At this rate, I could walk home from work (35 miles), the farthest away I get from home in a normal week, in 1 1/2 days. Faster if I didn't stop at night.

I appreciate you suggestions. An edible plants course is something I am going to try.

I like the EDC because it's small <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> The only I'd consider adding is a whistle. I know you have one in your tin in your truck, but it's something I like to have on my person.

What do other people think? Do you figure you can get by just by shouting, if you were trapped in a lift/elevator or something?
