I'm looking for a smallish leather camera case with a detachable shoulder strap. I'd wear this when my large Podzilla shoulder bag is not convenient.

It should look classy. I would want to be able wear it when I'm in my formal suit.

It should be small enough to be carried under a polar fleece half-zip without buldging too much. It should also be large enough to hold a some "essentials": a CMG Infinity Ultra, Princeton Tec Blast, Victorinox Mdnite MiniChamp II, Mini- Bic, and a few first aid items.

Any suggestions?

Try Billingham... As classy as it gets.

Very fancy, life lasting, strong, durable and fashionable.

Craig:

Modify a nylon shoulder holster rig.

With casual, wear it exposed, with formal, wear it concealed.

You might try a leather PDA case. That's what I use for my EDC kit here in Silicon Valley where a Leatherman on your belt will raise eyebrows but nobody even notices a PDA.

Check out:

I have both the PDA Plus and the PDA Pro Phone. The PDA Plus has my EDC kit and the PDA Pro Phone has my toolkit. The phone pocket fits even a large multi tool.

They hold a fair amount and come with both a belt clip and detachable shoulder strap.

You're quite welcome. As a longtime Indy fan, I spent several hours reading about the bags, hats, grail diaries etc, on the above site.

This is the bag that most of the people who dress up as Indy get: http://whatpriceglory.com/mkviibag.html. Kinda halfway between the tactical look of Maxpedition and the classic expedition Filson stuff. Although I'd add an extra pocket or two to the outside to emphasize that it's not a man-purse! <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Looks great, but what I'm looking for has to look good with both jeans and a sweater as well as khakis and a blazer. Gotta cover both worlds.
