Took a look at Ranger Rick's necklace, pretty good idea. Truthfully my mind hasn't stopped thinking about it since.

Point of interest with regard to the tubing used to cover the wire saw. Why not use surgical tubing of an adequate size to remove the saw and leave the tube intact for use as a straw, etc. ?

He also spoke of constructing small containers using water bottle caps. I have on a number of occassions fashioned small containers similar to these using the venerable 35mm film canister. Simply cut the canister in half, or thirds, or quarters, depending on the size you wish your final product to be. Force the bottom piece through the upper piece (which still retains the lip for the cap) and voila, small container. The addition of a snap swivel will keep the pieces from seperating. I suppose glue could be applied for security, although I have never found that to be needed.

Just some random thoughts. Anybody else wish to add to the discusion?

i was thinking of ordering one and converting it into a "survival keychain" by coiling the saw up and putting the other gear on the split rings, so then, with suppliment from a pocket knife, and 35mm film canister kit, you could have adressed the main issues of a psk in a more portable package.
