Sounds like a rather precarious place to carry a knife, considering the proximity to the femoral artery, and other valuable goodies higher up.

I'd suspect it gets in the way of walking or running too.

Physics137:

In my neck of the woods (concrete), young also tends to equate with stupid in a lot of areas of life.

My nature, size, and the fact that I had knives always, and firearms sometimes didn't make running a big concern (See, there's that stupid part!).

Although I was always aware of the potential for voice change if I became reckless drawing the knife , I had the pompous arrogance of youth because unlike those that just carry, my friends of that era and I used to have "whoever draws first blood" fights with small knives using slicing motions only, in order to improve our abilities with knives (There's a dumb thing. ).

I agree. I have tried neck carry with several different knives and I find that (a) I don't trust even the very best sheaths 100% and (b) it is a major pain when running or being in any position other than (standing/sitting) vertical.

Once again I highly recommend Fred Perrins "La Griffe"-layout !

IMHO itīs the optimal structur for a fulltang hideaway knife handle.
Iīve experimented with the hideawayknife-layout either and finde the la griffe more comfortable in use.

Middle picture of the first post in this thread or to the one to which you replied to asking the question? Which has no pictures, I might add.
