I'm in the process of developing my first Altoids tin PSK. Just now I had an odd little insight; although the whole EDC PSK thing seems to largely to be a guy thing, in fact the vast majority of EDC PSKs out there are carried by women. They just call them handbags. And there are probably some handbags out there that would be excellent PSK containers.

I think Maxpedition has cornered the market on the "murse" (short for man purse). Well atleast it comes in black.

Good luck on your PSK and if you want post the contents.

I like to refer to my Maxpedition Fat Boy as an "Urban Utility Kit".... My wife, though, still calls it my "man purse".

It's similar to the age old argument as to whether or not GI Joe is a doll or an "Action Figure"....

Fearsclave:

Yes, good luck with your kit. Actually making and carrying one is a great experience. Building an official "Altoids" kit ought to be a right of passage for members of this list. :-}

I'm impressed by a new Spec Ops organizer:

Spec Ops Mini Organizer

It's a great size for regular pants pockets (5 x 7 x ~1 inches - 12.5 x 18 x 2,5 cm). It has a minimum of internal partitions and seams and stuff, which means it lies pretty flat.

It's very much like a woman's clutch purse, but oh so manly.

I've got that, it's great. Fits in cargo pants just perfect. If you wear BDU pants, they've got a bigger one that I'd like to get that is just the right size to fill out a thigh pocket.

I try to pass it off as a bag. But that's to close to hand bag and I get the rolled eyes all the time. But funny how I can pull out a band-aid or safty pin from pocket kit to save the day.

HA HA......

Chris said it best on 12-27-2002:

"O.K., since nobody else was foolhardy enough to make this observation I will. The greatest, most comprehensive PSK in the world is a woman's purse I have observed; revolvers, food and water, 1/4" drive socket sets, Stoicism by Marcus Arelianus, serenity candles ( strawbery) Canadian, Mexican and Hong Kong currrency, a hibernating Kangaroo rat and pepper spray."

And may I add: The Boy Scouts say they are "Always Prepared", but it's the women who really ARE prepared! (Even thought it's hard to fit the .38 S&W into one of those tiny little sequined evening bags...)
