If you find a source, we would dearly love to hear about it. The only known source we've ever found ceased production not long after we started shipping PSPs and AMK finally used up all their stock that they had purchsed. We're now stuck using golf pencils, but it's not our first choice...

Not a pencil, but Fisher Space Pen refills are small. They come in 2 sizes. The normal "Bullet pen" refills are 3.5" which is too long for my PSK, but the "universal" or "triple actions" refills you can break off to just over 2.5". They are also thinner; about 2mm rather than 5mm. Cost about 2$ individually.

Jame finally posted (after reading for a year), offering to help find something, and got kind of slapped down by CK. He hasn't been heard from since, that I've seen. Maybe he could help you find things you're looking for, if he's still around.

Here in Hong Kong, this pencil http://www.zebrapen.com/pencil-pocket.html is readily available and tiny. If you can't find a source, let me know.

Susan:

My remark to Christina about how she was going to practice using a slingshot by shooting her sisters in the fanny was nastier than anything in the thread you highlighted.

You have to read more of CK's postings to understand that he did not slap down Jame, he just couldn't believe someone would respond to such an old post which he had given up on.

Jame should be commended for helping and I think he responded to that post because he finally felt it was an area he could contibute to, but if CK's method of writing offended him, it shouldn't have.

Lest you think I am brown nosing, I have probably had more of my posts removed and shut down than most of you, and I have learned to adapt and respect the parameters of the forum.

Jame:

If you read this and were in fact put off by anyones comments, read some of my posts and the people I have taken issue with and you will find we agree to disagree and we hold no malice toward each other no matter how wrong all my detractors are.

My POINT was not "nasty", my point was that he brushed off a possible source of supply.

If I were to translate CK's response, it would be something like this: "Oh, dear, someone responding to a 4-yr-old question again. This SO interferes with my current endeavors and train of thought. I'm sure you don't have anything to offer us, so why don't you go somewhere else and play."

FACT: D.R. sometimes has trouble finding what he is looking for.

FACT: Someone offered to help find needed items and was blown off.

A slight case of tunnel vision?

I know that this in not what you were looking at, but, I found a pencil that has a series of 12 leads in plastic that come out one at a time, pre sharpened and very light weight. I found it at school.

I don't have a commercial source, but I just put an old pencil in my drill (you could easily use a belt sander also) and sand it down to the thickness I want, then I cut it to the length I want (I usually make 2 or 3 out of a used pencil). Since you can pick up a pencil just about anywhere, it doesn't really cost anything. If you started with new pencils, you could probably make 5 out of each, so 10 pencils later, plus your time, and your set.

Unfortunately for Doug, this method is a tad labor intensive for his purposes, but it works great for my tiny kits.
