Did we ever determine if "regular" glass vials (as in non-teflon-lined) woudl work OK if the seal was covered with teflon plumbers tape? Doug?

I think AyersTG suggested this before.

Doug uses glass vials, so glass must be ok.

Have we ever determined if the little metal containers that a person at risk of a heart attack would carry with nitroglycerin inside is okay for PotableAqua tablets? I understand nitro tabs are relatively corrosive as well. So, maybe, these specialized containers would do for the PotaAqua as well?

Thank you, Xavier Phx, AZ

These "nitro" vials come in many sizes including one that contains a glass vial in it. This larger one is fairly expensive.

herringtons

You might want to checkout this previous post for other shapes and sizes

Keychain vials

I think that the iodine is more reactive with metals than the nitro but I may be wrong about that. You're safe with the vial that contains a glass bottle. If the cap doesn't have a teflon liner then you might use plumbing tape to line the cap.

Me, I use another home-made aproach as specified on this post.
My Kit

Follow the thread containing that post to get some interesting feedback from the others on my ideas. I am still awaiting the results of my little experiment. I will post them when I have them

Brad Maxwell
