After much anticipation regarding the mission to Thailand, it looks like the mission is on for March 12 though the 20th. Four members, including myself from the Gear Up Foundation (GUF) will be traveling in collaboration with Airline Ambassadors International (AAI). AAI is sponsoring runners from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC, who will participating in the Forth International Thailand Temple Run, a 26.2- mile marathon in Bangkok, Thailand. The four members of GUF and several members from AAI will proceed to Phuket, Thailand with the donation of the Fire Engine (not an ambulance) and equipment.

Mission Dates: 3/12/05 to 3/20/05 Coordinator: Airline Ambassadors (info@airlineamb.org)
We will be sending a group of runners to participate in the Fourth International Thailand Temple Run, a 26.2-mile marathon in Bangkok. The runners are students at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. The goal of this project is to raise money for tsunami relief efforts in countries that have been devastated by the recent tsunamis. All funds will be divided between the American Red Cross and Airline Ambassadors International. The funds will be raised predominantly in the Chapel Hill area of North Carolina, through a variety of events, including on-campus activities, soliciting the local community to get involved, and raising awareness in the state through the media. The team will also be delivering an ambulance to Phuket, Thailand, donated to AAI by Gear Up Foundation.

I hate sounding like the little boy who cried wolf, but our Thailand mission is once again delayed. <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
Our military airlift of the engine got bumped. : <img src="/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
Hopefully, in the next couple of weeks. <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
