I hear through the grapevine Peak LED and Inova have gone lawsuit happy, and are busy suing each other over multi LED torches. The initial consequences mean Peak are no longer producing Multi LED torches.
Whats the world commimg to? A sad day for competition...

AFAIK no one got sued (yet), Peak is only on the receiving end and we don't know if the other party involved is in fact Inova (although logical). I'm not a big fan of multi led lights anyway, I rather have an underdriven Luxeon LED instead.

I am still looking for a viable replacement for the ARC AAA I used to have. Greatest little lights in the world but not worth paying a million dollars for existing stock on Ebay.

Your right. Heres the Peak press release. It doesn't mention Inova - not exactly through the grapevine either

Candle power forums have a very long thread on the subject - which I haven't read yet..

When Photons were relatively new, and Inova was unheard of, I used to go to the Poton forum at LRIs site every so often. The Photon was the first LED lght that I had ever owned that actually worked like it claimed. Back in those halcyon days a spammer/troll showed up talking up a new Photon I clone from a maker called Inova. Like many internet brouhahas someone got busy and did some e-detective work. Turns out the spammer troll was from Inova. Once they got called on that fact the spammer troll disappeared. Therefore I'm not happy that Inova would pull any trick in the book.

I will add that one of my favorite lights is an X5, but I deplore companies that sue other companies for the simple reason of running the little guy out of business. Certainly put Maglite way down on the lsit, especially since that seems to be the only way Mag protects its large piece of the pie. It certainly isn't through product innovation.

Peak LED Solutions isn't dead by a longshot. They may have removed some offerings from their lineup, but they're still growing and developing new products - some of which will be tested during Terrill Hoffman's "Practice What You Preach" on the first weekend in April. Reviews will be forthcoming shortly thereafter. Stay tuned...
