Can anyone give me some suggestions for survival gear that can be added to my personal survival kit for specific geographical areas. My pesonal kit has the core basics like fire starting,compass,knife,water treatment,first aid and signalling but I want to be able to add items for different environments.<br>A fishing kit could be replaced with sunscreen or lipsalve in a desert area, eye protection for artic conditions and so on.<br>The main areas of interest are JUNGLE, ARTIC and DESERT.

Jungle: insect repellant and machete. Desert :a trowel or shovel for digging down for water or shelter. Arctic: long burning candles to warm shelters and again, a shovel to build snow shelters ( you can use it to shape snow blocks with instruction.)

The fishing kit can also be used to catch birds (the featherd kind)Gloves and a hat are also a must in the arctic and the desert. The thick gortex gloves isuued to the british army/marines etc are brilliant. A solid fuel stove can also be useful.
