Over the weekend I just bought one of these and have been happily shrink-packing everything in sight. I think it is a great addition to my gear. It will make packages about 6" wide. I'm not sure how that compares to the regular sized models but it is plenty big enough for survival gear. Best of all was the price: $39.95 at the local mega store that starts with "W" and ends with "t", as opposed to $129.00 for the full size. If you've wanted one of these but were put off by the price I would suggest taking a look at this one.

Norad, thanks for the heads up on this. I've been wanting a vaccuum sealer thingamabob for a while, but have been a little skeptical about dropping that kind of money. Especially since I doubt it would be used for food much (bags too expensive IMO) but mainly for small items for the pack. I had no idea there were smaller, more affordable Tilias.

I hate w*****t, but I may make an exception. Or try to find it elsewhere.
