Has anyone ever tried one of these, and would it be a worthwhile addition to a survival kit or BOB:

A single yo-yo would be like a single snare... you need a bunch of them to cover enough territory to feed yourself for very long. I've got a couple dozen that I keep on hand in case the balloon DOES go up, but for a BOB they'd be too bulky/heavy to take with you, unless you're evacing in a Kenworth (if you're carrying these, you might as well include a dozen or so Conibears, a cabin tent, couple hundred rounds for the pistol, couple thousand for the rifle, fifteen or twenty cases of MRE's, etc (that's not saying I don't have them laying around here SOMEwhere)) .

That is the first time I have ever seen someone brag and paint a pitiful picture of himself in the same sentence.

"A couple hundred rounds for the pistol, and a couple THOUSAND rounds for the rifle", would seem to indicate you shoot better with a pistol and you obviously aren't worth squat with a rifle.

Get yourself a good folding wrist rest slingshot and practice a lot so that you won't have to worry about hauling all that ammunition with you.

Years ago, Walmart sold them. I used to have a couple in my tackle box. Never used them except to scare my brother...
