I am a smoker and a Zippo user. Evaporation of fluid is a concern for survival situations, while i do have the Doug Ritter PSK, i have found a method to carry extra fluid in a small package. I get the cheap bic style lighters (the ones where you can see the fluid in them and are adjustable flame) and take them apart. Take off the metal piece, the wheel, keep the flint cut the ears off that held the wheel and unscrew the plug that holds the butane in. Take out the straw piece and snap the metal piece that comes out of the stopper off and there ya go. When the butane has all evaporated fill it with fluid and screw the plastic stopper in tight and there ya go. This is probably leaning more towards Zippo carriers out there but in a pinch it could be used to start fires as well as fill a Zippo. I've got one that i filled in December and by my eye it hasn't lost any fluid in over a month but i will continue to update this forum on it's status.

By the way this is my first post and I have found a lot opf very cool info on this site.

Thank you Mr Ritter and everyone that posts their experiences and insights on this forum for others to learn by.
