Many people put a teabag or two in their PSKs, for several reasons: making a fire to boil the water to make the tea gives them something to focus on, in addition to being a necessary survival task, etc. But what if you don't really care for tea?

There are now coffee bags - yep, individual coffee packets that look just like teabags but make something much more enjoyable, to some of us! The brand I've tried, Folgers Coffee Singles , packs the coffee bags in individual waterproof mylar pouches, so in addition to getting some fresh coffee, you have a foil bag that can hold about 2 ounces of water, or be used as a fishing lure, for signaling, etc. Sometimes, progress is good!

I have several of those in my BOB. The hard to find item is individual creamer packets. I found a few at 7-11 though. The creamers you can't find in stores though. Has anyone tried the Emer'gen-C drinks? I have 2 packets but, haven't tried it yet. I just keep them in my BOB too.

(I don't like tea either)

Can't you just pocket the creamer packets in restaurants?

That's what I did at 7-11. lol But, I "try" and be honest, but it's hard to find them in the stores.

I will drink tea on occasion, but I really don't like coffee... So, I have a pouch of "Cup a soup" in my psk. Folds in half and is fairly flat.

No affiliation and haven't dealt with them yet, but Minimus.biz sells the packets of creamer for .02 each..

Neat little website. The care packages would make nice additions for a BOB. I don't know if is really cost effective, but I guess you have to pay for the convienience.

I've never found a milk substitute I liked. I have decided to go without coffee altogether. For that kind of thing I use beef "oxo" stock cubes.

Early Winters had the coffee bags back in the early 80s. I found a couple of them in my old ruck last year. They were left over from a 1982 back packing trip. Just out of curiousity I brewed one up, NASTY!!! BTW I don't have any problems finding the individual creamers at stores around here.

Cool website. However, It seems to me that for the price I can figure out how to get a few extra Ketchups and mustards from McDonalds or Taco Sauce from a corner Quick stop store. .06 for Ketchup...no wonder these places are so stingy with them.
