I like the ideas. It's almost like compartmentalized PSK's. One for fire, one for fishing, etc. Makes them easier to stuff in a pocket perhaps. Even though I like my all in one kit.
Just my 2 cents, with a penny returned.

I do indeed like the idea, but I when I tried implementing it, I kept adding more gear and more pouches. What I wound up with was basically a layered system of multiple mini-PSKs, each with a different purpose or general theme

The compartmentalized bandolero of flat braided 550 cord, worn diagonally across the chest (shoulder to waist or hip), with a series of soft flat bags attached.
 Altoids tin bag
 Fire bag
 Water bag
 Shelter bag
 First-aid kit
 Compass bag
 Fishing bag
 Signal bag
 Food bag
 Extra battery bag
 Sewing kit/snare materials bag
 Comfort bag

with some loops for flashlights, etc,

and a good fixed-blade knife in sheath at lowest point.

Hands are free, it won't fall off easily, all weight is close to the body for stability, no major lumps (although you might be staggering under the weight....)

 And then there's the Survival Hat Band! <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Speaking of staggering under the weight, one time I threw my coat over my wife's shoulders (because she looked a bit chilly). She actually lost her balance, staggered a bit, looked at me, and said, "I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but WHAT do you have in these pockets?" My reply: "Cool stuff."
By the way, where do you wear that rig?

It's still in the planning stage.... Actually, you started it with your thread on formal wear for Christmas parties.
I was aiming for the spring fashion show in Paris. I thought the hatband would top it off nicely.

Are you familiar with those baseball caps that have a pocket in the front for keys or money? I was just visualizing a circle of little bags. But filled, they might be a bit lumpy.
 It needs work. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

After thinking it over, shouldn't the title of this thread be "Mini PSKs" rather than "Mini PSK kits?" If we were to expand the acronym "PSK" to its full "Personal Survival Kit," then we'd get "Mini Personal Survival Kit kits."
Apologies for allowing my inner English major to show. I know I'm out of practice with proofreading and editing or I'd have mentioned this sooner. It's still a cool thread, though.
