Heh, i know how adictive these sorts of things can be. Basically I was just looking to upgrade my home unit to a newer LED light that could withstand the same abuse I put my (now aging) 3D maglite through. As for EDC, I carry the conventional but reliable mini maglite and now a garrity super bright micro light. I got the micro for christmas as a surprise and didn't expect much from it but was pleasently shocked by how intense the light was. That got me thinking about LEDs and getting some new gear. Of course, I also have limited funds and while the gear addict in me says "replace all your dusty old incandesent lights with LEDs!" the reasonable part of me says "its not broke, don't fix it", so Im trying to meet myself halfway here and get a cheaper LED soulution.
Anyway, thanks for the tips, I might hold off on the Brinkman and scrounge up a few more dollars for a better piece.
