hacksaw attachment to Leatherman charge?????

The main reason I purchased the Gerber 800 was the interchangable jig saw blade. I have used the legend for a year now and have started looking at the new leatherman Ti. I'm attracted to the Ti for it's size, weight, quality of construction over Gerber, 154cm blade, wood saw, much nicer diamond file, and the pocket clip. I don't want to give up my jig blade though.
That jig blade has gotten me out of a few situations where no other tool would do, other than a jig saw of course.
Here's the point of the post---I went to my favorite knife shop at the mall and took a good look at the Ti (homer simpson drool noise here). Would it be possible to attach a 3"-4" hacksaw blade to the Ti the same way the belt clip and lanyard are attached- on the end? One would just have to grind a little on a hack saw blade to copy the same attachment motif. Does anyone own a Ti and a hacksaw blade- could you please measure the width of the hacksaw blade to see if it is as wide as the attachment end of the lanyard or belt clip to see if this would be doable?
The cool thing about this, if it works, is that one could increase the usefullness of the tool without having to thrash the tool and void the warranty. Or, are hack saw blades manufactured if various widths other than the standard size for a hand saw.
Thanks!

Paul810, that is a good idea to put the hacksaw blade in the bit holder. I didn't consider that. I don't want to modify my Ti when I get it though.
What I was speaking of in my original post was to modify the end of the hacksaw blade to match the belt clip or lanyard end that fits the Ti and inserting the blade just as the belt clip would insert. The blade would not have to fold into the tool. Just insert, cut, release, store.
Is a hacksaw blade wide enough to have the groove and notch like the belt clip?

I just pulled out a standard hack-saw blade from my shop, and laid the lanyard attachment on it. You'd be able to cut it down so that it fits, but it's not wide enough to make the little ears that would make it more stable. But there are wider hacksaw blades available that you could "repurpose", I'm already using one as the striker for a ferrocerium rod. I might just give it a try sometime, I'm pretty creative with a dremel. I'll take pictures if I make it work.

To get the width you might try a saw-z-all blade. These are wider and thicker than standard hacksaw blades and are made to work on the pull stroke.

Yah whatever, I just looked around the saw blade section of Home Despot, and saw one that looked wider, and grabbed it.

This idea about attaching a sawblade to the Charge is really great! I didn't have time to try it until today. After grinding(thanks Goatrider for the Dremel idea) down a sawblade from an electric hacksaw this was the result! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Photobucket What do you think ?

Looks great! How's it work? Does it hold firmly enough to be able to saw with it?
