It is now (or shortly will be) against the law to buy any knife under the age of 18 in the UK. The down side to this is it is legal to do almost everything else i.e get married, drive etc etc under 18. So now a hypothetical scenario was posted in a newspaper the other day. A couple may get married at 16 and have kids legally but will be unable to go to a shop and purchase a set of kitchen knives for the home the are setting up.
