Tom,

That is real good news on the training. I am glad it went so well.

I cannot wait to see what else you learn from the next group.

Hi Tom,

I am glad the training is going on with high motivation and well. Where ever they are I have great respect into individuals who spend effort to help their community and other people. People like you will play the key role in the first phase of the disaster intervention.

I have reports prepared by British Civil Defence Rescue Officers in digital format. They include many things about disaster intervention and individual survival in the disaster area. Some operations include volcano eruptions, floods, earthquakes, humanitarian conflicts etc. These are very valuable information and I would like to share them.

here is one of them

Best regards,
Burak

Burak,

I have not yet read through all the after action reviews on your site, but two that I did read with special interest were:

Izmit 99 and Duzce 99

Near the end of the Duzce write-up I was very interested to read about the press release that the BCD Team issued. If you happen to have an electronic copy of that press release, I would be very interested in reading it.

Some of the other reports I read carried me back in my mind to the point where I was smelling, tasting, feeling, and hearing things from the past. Thanks... I think... <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I read through some of the grant information on the FEMA site this morning and after going through the CERT training locally find that I am very upset with the proportionally miserly allocation of funds to this sort of training. Also the policy of only allowing the state-level agency to apply for grants (guess where 99.5% of the funds in Illinois go? Hint - our current Governor lives there and it isn't the state capitol...).

Well, the rest of that rant can wait for another time or a different audience. Again, thanks for the links!

Tom

Just wondering if any of those attending the recent training had any updates about CERT and ways in which it is best utilitzed?
