How many of you gear junkies have more than one keychain or keyring full of keys and other goodies that you lug around every day?

I got to the point where my one keychain probably killed my car's ignition and it had to be redrilled and replaced. Okay, time for a new plan. I now have my car keys, Res-Q-Me, nail clippers, Gerber LST Micro, Princeton Tec Eclipse 2, and mini-baton (polymer) on one keyring.

I have my house key, mailbox key, office key, key to my wife's car, P.E.C.K. in the Dark, Inova X1, and a mini-Bic held in a sheath from Survival Sheath Systems (SurvivalSheath.com) on another keyring.

I have two other keyrings holding more stuff. They live in my jeans pockets. One contains a PrincetonTec Blast, Mini-Fox 40, and another PrincetonTec Eclipse. The other holds my Vic Midnite MiniChamp II, Uncle Bill's Sliver Grippers, Swiss-Tech Micro Pro XL, and Mini-Prybaby.

No wonder my pants keep trying to fall down. <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Craig,

I split up my keychain, too. My car and house keys are on one ring, and the whistle, Squirt, led light, and permanent match are on a separate ring. They can now go in different pockets, so they're less showy.

One key ring with just my car keys and one with all the other junk. This way, the "junk" stays in my pockets
out of sight. And, as mentioned, it's hard on the ignition switch to have a heavy key chain.

Yep. I'm now a "two ring" guy, too. (Three, actually; I'm married....) <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
One for car and house keys, and another holds an Infinity Ultra, a P-38 can opener, a Leatherman 'Squirt', and the obligatory HotSpark. (On the third ring I carry a mortgage, two kids, a couple of car notes....... )

This change as really helped my poor ignition, and the lopsided look of my trousers ("Is that your EDC in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me? Oh. It's your EDC....... <img src="/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />)

I have a keychain in each front pocket and some spare keys in my wallet in my back pocket. Main keychain has truck and house keys as well as a 128M USB Flash drive, Gerber Ridge knife, ArcAAA, mini compass, all in a "key wallet". 170,000 miles on my ignition switch and it still works fine.

Same here: Keys on one; the other contains a Leatherman Micra, Photon Freedom, Mini-fox 40 whistle and a compass. It's not technically a ring, though because the metal split ring and the titanium carabiner from County Comm both interfered with the compass, so now I just use a little paracord. I found there were times when I didn't carry my car keys (around the office, around the house, etc.) but I still wanted the other stuff on me. This arrangement lets me do that, and keeps me from walking in a notably lopsided manner. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Craig, what do you use the mini-baton for?

One with ASP Mini Baton, truck key, house & garage keys. That one's my backup keys. My other keyring has my truck & house keys, ASP LED light & a whistle.

My wife had an early flight out of town this morning, and grabbed my keys by mistake when she left. Since I keep the emergency gear separate on another key chain, I'm still set for the day. Just another example of situations where the keys may leave your pocket, but you'd want your gear to stay with you.
