I don't see the pencil in this kit, but I haven't opened it up. I can make out the duct tape, braided nylon cord, sparklite, whistle, safety pins, tinder, steel wire, fishing line, compass, signal mirror, rite-in-the-rain sheets, aluminium foil, and instruction sheet.

Can't make out the fresnel lens, or the scalpel blade, but I wouldn't expect to without opening the kit up.

Too bad about the pencil its one of the best parts IMHO as its so damn small! Proly a bad batch proly, I can't see customs not allowing a pencil <img src="/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> but ya never know.

I checked today and the other kits in stock all have a pencil, but it's a regular sized golf pencil. I know AMK was having trouble re-ordering the mini-pencils and was speculating on having to replace them with regular pencils, so I'm guessing that's what happened.

Don't know why my kit was missing a pencil but I'm not going to complain about it; all they'd do would be give me a golf pencil to replace it, I suppose. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

It's probably too new an addition to their line. I don't know whether you could or not, but I don't think there would be any harm in trying - they obviously must have them in stock.
