Ok, i tried it, but I couldn't get it to work.
I a burn hole in the paper, but not fire. Got lots of sparks and even burnt myself on the sparks!
Maybe I'm a doofus...... <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the link though. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Completely ingenious! I must say I'm impressed! This is one of those "why didn't I think of that" moments! This really works, not mention that it makes it much easier to start a fire with knife and ferrocerium rod one-handed, which is something I practice often. I've tried this only a couple times so far but I imagine by this weekend I will have tried it with every form of tinder known to man. I have also been looking for an easier way to light natural tinder that may not be in ideal shape due to weather etc and I believe this may be the answer. More tests and I will know for sure.
