My Better Half bought this newly released micro-multitool for me as a gift for helping her with her Halloween costume for her work. She won First Prize for Most Creative, too. The Micro-Pro XL is part of the www.swisstechtools.com lineup, but it's not listed on their web site. Does anyone else have one?

Looks pretty useful. I've been working on the do-everything keychain, and that woudl be a nice addition. And it's only $14.95

I own a previous incarnation. Its one of the more useful gadgets I have. People hit me up for it in the office all the time and I've even changed my car's battery with it.

Tough little thing. If the steel's still the same, the screwdriver has survived a lot and has remained essentially intact.

I also have the older version, and it is my least used multi tool.
I used the Leatherman Squirt far more often, and simply quit carrying the Swisstech.

I have a killer keychain rig, myself. I really should take a picture and post and image of it. I even have a digital cameral. My only excuse is I have nowhere to actually post an image.

Well, here's what I've got so far:



I've got it organized in 3 rings. The Gerber mini-knife and match pod are on one ring, so I can take that off if I need to get on an airliner or something. And the keys are separated on another ring too. The middle ring has the "preparedness" stuff- 6 feet of paracord (it's kind of a pain, but you CAN do a box braid with one piece), a Peak-LED "Snow" AAA flashlight (just bought last week), and a fox-40 whistle. I've always tried to keep my actual "key" chain to a minimum. Right now it's got the key to my roof rack, car key, bike lock, dog-tag, and house key.

One thing I'm planning to add is another house key, with a piece of 1/8 inch ferrocerium rod glued to it and shrink-wrapped. I've heard of people doing this with key blanks, but using a spare house key seems like a better idea.

By the way, if you've got your digital camera on your keychain, how are you going to take a picture of it? It is possible for a camera to take a picture of itself, with a careful arrangement of mirrors:

Well, it is cold where she works, even though management swears the temperature is 70-something. So she put on some white face paint and some other appropriate costuming, and went as an employee who froze to death at her desk. Even the higher-ups laughed, she said.
