Well I have owned the full-size and the mini and I "think" I'm going with the full-size RSK. I missed my full-sized RSK so much (you may remember I dropped it in the lake recently) that I ordered another one! It's on backorder until the end of the month. I can't see having both RSKs so I "may" sell my Mini on Ebay or something since it's still in mint condition. I'm not a rich man so I have to find some way to subsidise the purchase of the replacement full-size RSK before the wife finds out that I'm on my third $100 knife in little over a month. The Mini is really the perfect size for EDC as it is very very comfortable in my pocket, however with the laws in my area allowing carry of knives with up to 5" blades, I feel I am short-changing myself by carrying a blade under 3". I don't feel I need a 5" EDC knife but I do feel there is a big difference between the 2.88" and 3.44" blade lengths. Not to mention that with the full-size RSK I can have the same knife for both urban and rural EDC if I want. I really like the idea of one trusty knife for true 24/7/365 EDC and I thin the full-size RSK fits the bill best, since I do spend a lot of time both in the city and out in the wilderness. I have tried both knives now and decided that I am probably going sacrifice a little comfort in the pocket in order to have a little extra blade length on my EDC knife. I know you guys love talking about knives and many of you own both RSKs (or similar sized knives) also, so opinions are quite welcome.

I have both also. The real test is what you actually carry- when I only had the full sized RSK1, I would often leave it behind as too bulky. But now that I have the mini, I always have it with me. When I was camping, I was able to always have the full size in my pocket, so that's how I think it's going to go- mini RSK around town and at home, full size while camping.

Did you have one of those brightly-colored handles? If not, we might be able to work out something.

Where I live there's no practical limit, and, believe it or not, on weekends I often carry a Lone Wolf Harsey tactical, which is pretty huge... but it doesn't look different than any other clip-folder in the pocket (unless your pants are tight).

However, I often travel into a city with a 3" legal limit....

I agree that it's all about what you will actually carry, not just with knives but any EDC gear. No matter how good your gear is, if its not on your person, it's not doing you any good. I just really like the idea of one truely EDC knife for everything. I guess I'm from the "old school" of thought where you have that one knife that is an extension of your arm and you keep it for 20 years. I'm still looking for that knife and trying many different sizes, shapes and materials in the process. Not sure when I will find it but I'm starting to think that when I do, it will have a 3"-4" blade.
