I use their socks and my kayaking partner uses their gloves. In moderate temperature you will sweat and if it happens that temperature drops rapidly (as it is on the river) now you have your feet or hands freezing. Good fit on the gloves and socks is the must. You can put something underneath them but it has to be smaller and shorter in order to end right before the sealing bands. Lately I've been putting wool socks directly over the sealskinz and my friend is doing the same with the gloves. Wool will keep warm even if wet.

But they do work and are excellent product. I didn't have a problem yet but he had his gloves replaced twice because lining broke off and everythim he pulled out the hand it would come out. But the customer service was excellent.
