Does any retail sell surplus military survival kits?

I was looking at the USAF survival kit review on the equipped webpage, and it said the civilian sales of them run about $40 (something) but I can't find any place that sells them.

Older kits are ok too (not nessesarily USAF either)

I recieved a military jungle style survival kit and most of the contents were expired, but some of the parts were nice (the compass for example)

I hate to say it but try EBAY. I got a BCB military kit from there for near peanuts. Just do a search for "military survival kit" or the like.

If you've got any military bases close by, you've probably got surplus stores too. Try there. I once bought a pilots survival vest (that missed being de-milled) that was complete (it still had the drugs in it). The package was a pretty complete survival kit all by itself. I weeded out the stuff that could get me in serious trouble (heavy duty pain killers) and as things expired, replaced them as best I could, and still have it to this day, although most of the gear has been duplicated in my "USE" kit, I keep it around for conversation and as a last ditch "back-up". There's no way I'd have ever found this through a mail-order/web retailer. If you have a surplus store that's getting their supply direct from the source, you'll be surprised at some of the stuff you'll find on the shelf.
