Sky News report Local News Report Flash flooding hit a small village in Cornwall the other day. The speed, force and violence of the water was frightening. There were over 100 souls saved by helicopters from the RAF, Royal Navy and Coastguard. Thankfully as it stands at the moment no-one was killed, however some people are still unaccounted for.
According a BBC report I saw last night, the only way to get messages through was by the local radio stations - a mayor from a neighbouring village was offering their village hall as a shelter and it was the only way to let people know. Apparently, the mobile phone network was down.
