Just curious if anyone has had a chance to compare the Laser Stik from essential gear to chemical lite sticks and how they performed.

Battery life was kinda low at only 12 hours, size seems pretty close to a large chem light, and they are pretty cheap at about $12 a pop. However one large downside is that they take 3 button cells, which would get kinda spendy, course on the other hand you could carry a lot of spares in a small package.

If anyone is curious about them the link I found them on is:
http://www.essentialgear.com/

Todd

Is the application to see or be seen?See Doug's reviews in equipment.I like chemlights for blazing trail during night hikes.I can see my return path cheaply and safely with compass and chemlights posted periodically by time travelled and/or prominent trees, boulders etc.On a string they scare off feral dogs and coyotes(been there done that). However in the cold their illumination life is dramatically reduced.
