Wow, a very sad day for me! Jerry Wigutow has passed away at 84. Jerry was known as Wiggy, the owner of Wiggy's sleeping bag company. He was a colorful character for sure but very friendly and outgoing. Many times he personally answered emails from me and answered questions, occasionally with a story! This feels like a personal loss. frown He had a succession plan in place and his long time business partner Koki will be running Wiggy's.

RIP, Wiggy! You were an American original and will be sorely missed.

Wow! Sad indeed. He was one of a kind, but always very helpful to me over the years and I often used his products for clients

More bad news, or at least potentially. The emails from the company indicated that Koki was going to take over running the company but apparently that has changed and they're being sold. They're currently closed, with a message on the web site that says they'll be reopening in 30-45 days under new ownership.

Hard to know how this will go. A fellow from another forum claims to be a longtime personal friend of the new owner and says it will be a good thing. I can't verify this, it's just what I read. Many companies have faltered after the passing of the original owner, and many times it becomes a race to the bottom as the new owners cheap out the product to make a buck.

Time will tell, I suppose.
