I have the II and am not crazy about it. The III has some small improvements but is basically the same. Both are needlessly heavy for an AAA light, about the same weight as the Nitecore HA11 which uses an AA that holds 3x the energy. Also the Manker UI is very clumsy. It's well built and has some super low power modes but overall the HA11 is a better choice.
