I am in Louisiana and the ice storm outages are still going on. My lazy arse is in an apartment but my power was out into Day 7 (since last Saturday morning before 7 AM) and finally came on yesterday before 6 PM. We had lost water on Day 3 for less than 24 hours, then a boil advisory for a day or so. I still have several family members with no power.

Ouachita Parish had over 50% of the power outages in the state at over 47,000. So far 9 deaths in this state from the storm. Entergy has said that 90% of the homes will have power by the end of today. The other 10% could take much longer due to more rural locations or more severe damage to infrastructure.

The Governor visited Ouachita Parish this week after hearing reports of the extensive damage. Before the storm a state of emergency was issued. It was estimated that power restoration would be less than a week, but that was wrong. The restoration response seemed a little slow to me (I may be wrong for saying that). Samaritan's Purse is on the way also.
