Since EDCforum is gone, I thought to put my request here.

My tablet bag is great except the shoulder strap is silky smooth and always slips from my shoulder. It has no shoulder pad to help it stay in its place. The shoulder strap on this bag is permanently fixed (not removeable), so I cannot borrow a pad from another bag and slide it on.

Several years ago, I saw some websites sell shoulder pads that can be opened and closed on the shoulder strap. So it will fit on a permanently fixed strap, no problem.

Does anyone here know where to find them??

Thanks

This is the perfect place to post this sort of question.

Unfortunately, it looks like my favorite bag companies don’t sell those.

Etsy has some that look real nice, Amazon has a lot of choices. “Shoulder pad for bag strap,” was my search. Some are slide-on, which won’t work for you, but there were several with snaps and other closures that could.

By the way, Chaosmagnet, I have been seeing ads for an 8 TB external hard-drive that is smaller in size than the current 2 TB. Is it for real ?? Haven't seen it in stores just in ads. IIRC you work in IT. You may have an idea about it.

Thanks

If you like, PM me the link and I’ll look it over. Some are scams — I recently did a deep dive into this before making a pretty big purchase and thankfully avoided the scams.

I would be particularly suspicious of anything being shipped from overseas, or requires any sort of non-standard payment, or objectionable return policy.

An 8TB SSD from a reputable maker should run around $650-750.

Thank you so much

I do not have a link. Ads come and go. Actually, I wish I could record some ads for viewing them a few times like a guy was suggesting a program for fitness and weight loss that he claims to be better than cardio, Keto ..etc. However, I am not e-smart and don't know how to record that ad or figure out how real it is.

So then, I'll stick to my old ways of buying only from stores where I see, touch and even sniff the stuff before buying LOL. Thank you

This thread is turning into another EDCF. LOL
OK, question about stoves

I like the Esbit stove, and have made a DIY version from some cans. Lately I saw the Quickstove in some YouTube channel. It is something like a bigger version of the Esbit and can be used as a multi-fuel stove. You can put twigs or Trangia alcohol stove inside it. I may make a DIY version. The larger size allows using several types of fuel simultaneously like 1 Esbit tab + twigs for stronger longer lasting fire. Putting a jar lid in the bottom allows for adding some alcohol gel too.

Has anyone used it??
And how do you like it?

No worries. Here to help if you'd like.

I haven't seen that before, and it looks cool!
