When I bought my Arc, I bought it because I wanted it, not because anything was wrong with my Wave+.
I’ve lost a lot of weight recently — on purpose. I was dressing up for Valentine’s Day Dinner with Mrs. Magnet a few minutes ago when it came to my attention that my belt was just too long and the tail was sticking out and looking weird.
The good news was that this is a ratcheting gun belt (I do not bring firearms on international travel). It’s shipped very long, and the instructions have you cut it to the right length and attach the buckle. The bad news is that it has a very stiff kydex inner liner. I used heavy tin snips to cut it to length when I bought it, and it was a bear.
With my Arc and my bit kit, I took the buckle off and cut the belt to length with the Magnacut blade. I won’t say that the blade went through the kydex like butter, but I was able to cut it through completely and square with around ten seconds of repeated slices.
While the Wave+ would have been able to do this, the difficulty and effort would have been significantly greater. I feel like I have now justified the purchase.
