This is related to the other thread (what did you do today to prep )
But seems to need a thread of its own.

Lately I built a brick barbeque in the backyard. It can be used as a "camp fire" and can help us cook in case of power outage or other emergencies. Sitting there with a cuppa coffee, I started wondering if it can be used as a backyard multitool that includes an oven to bake bread or even pizza. Checking Google I found backyards with 4 or 5 different setups, one for BBQ, one oven ..etc. I would love to be able to do all that, but money and space will not allow all of them to be built.

So, here is my question:
Can this brick BBQ be used as an oven etc with adding or modifying a few things. Nothing permanent. I have a few loose bricks left, as well as other accessories like fridge shelves. So is there a way to use those loose bricks etc to change the configuration to make a pizza oven or tandoori for example ??

I only have the one on the left, with a table on the right and on the left for working and processing food. It has no shelves like the one in the picture and the front opening measures 50 cm high (20 inches ) and width = 75 cm at the base ( 30 inches )

Maybe like this one, minus the oven

Mine is shallow , only 20 inches deep
So, its not perfect as an oven but thought maybe closing some of the opening ( three rows of loose bricks ) will cut the openness by 50%

Just juggling ideas

An actual tandori used in the bed of coals comes to mind. A cast iron Dutch oven may also be an alternative. Both could be independly as well.

Thanks

I live on the other side of the planet, and haven't seen any dutch oven in our camping stores. Most campers use usual pots or pressure cookers on gas stoves. So, dutch oven isn't an option for me.

An idea came around that may help make an improvised dutch oven. I would use two similar pots; put a little sand in the bottom of the bigger one, and then insert the smaller pot with food within, and cover.

Thought Lodge was a well known cast iron brand in the US.
