Hey, I hope my American neighbours are having a fine July 4th!

We Canucks are back at work today, since Canada Day/Dominion Day was on July 1.

I wouldn't mind taking a week, though, to celebrate democracy everywhere. When you look around the world, it's just a freaking vicious and ugly scene. Our systems, grossly imperfect and contentious and angry and fractured, are a helluva lot better than the alternative. Don't ever forget that.
