Yeah, agreed, it's something to plan for -- and to practice a little. The brain can be trained to do this.

I've read that some folks practice shooting with their non-dominant hand so they have an option if things go badly.

Years ago, I messed up the tendons in my right arm. No comp or anything. But I still had to eat, and that meant computer work. So I had to learn to mouse with my left hand, just to spread out the load and let myself heal. It wasn't as fast and I certainly had to concentrate harder to be accurate. But it worked. And it stuck to this day -- I have a mouse on either side of the keyboard.

Maybe as a guitar player doing complex stuff with my left hand, I did a little brain training from early on.
