Back to the issue: what happened to the kids?
The searchers suspect they've been as close as 100 yards to the children and yet couldn't find them. That tells you how dense the foliage is.
I talked with a SAR person and it was interesting regarding the psychology of searching for children or people with dementia. Somehow you have to get inside their heads -- they don't behave like normal adults.
It's hard to see how the infant could have survived, unless it was already eating solid food and the others could feed him/her.
And yet the searchers are using dogs, and they say if there was a deceased individual they would find it quickly.
