Been watching different videos of people building and bushcrafting
And I saw this girl using this weird tool
Looks like an axe, used like an axe, but different from any axe I have seen before

Here is the video

Look at 3:30

Interesting.

Old traditional axes, before forging eyes in the axe head where like this. Like traditional African axes, but this appears to have the head mounted in wood?

So, the long wooden thing is a widge to hold the iron axehead in place? I can understand that, but why make it so long ?

It looks like a safety hazard

I think so, not sure why. The African ones were just two pieces, the head, and the handle.

Agreed.

Asked elsewhere, see if anyone else knows.

Beside the tool, I have been watching and enjoying a few similar U-tube channels. I so much love the peaceful life. Except for construction of the cabin (especially working on the roof, LOL), life is easy-going and healthy.

I liked it alot when girls gathered vegetable harvest and/or foraged foodstuff from the forest, carried the load in a backpack-style basket for a mile or two, to a village market. After selling their stuff, they wander in the market to buy farming tools and other necessities, then walk back to their homesteads.

I wish I could live like that
