Say your going on a trip, hiking/backpacking/or just packing to be prepared, how do you typically pack your clothing?

I see some will pack all the different types in one package/stuff sack/whatever so you have all your underclothing together, outer pants/shirt in one, etc

Others pack a bundle of one set of under/inner clothing and one set of outer clothing in each pack/sack for each planned day. So a two day trip will have two stuff sacks, one for each day.

As I start to prepare to swap summer gear and winter gear soon I wonder if one method might be a little more efficient than another?

Thanks

For backpacking or hiking I might wear the outer layer for more than one day. Underwear and socks get rolled in per day sets. Tshirts get rolled in the "ranger roll" sometimes with a fresh set of socks and underpants in the roll.
Outer layers get packed per item. All layers go into one pack.
Worn clothing goes into a seperate pack sack.
The roll is no extra work as I usually do it with my laundry anyway.
