If I’m escaping a building from any kind of deadly threat, I doubt that I’m going back unless I’m forced to do so.

If this is due to a fire, the firefighters might have an issue with me after the fact.

If there’s an active shooter, there aren’t too many doors with locks that cannot be defeated with a firearm. I doubt that propping open a door changes that situation much. The tactical consideration is that the shooter may follow a trail of propped-open doors.
