I assume that Doug's Pocket Survival Pak is no longer on the market. Is this correct?

If so, is there something similar on the market that you'drecommend? This would be ordered and shipped to my kids as gifts.

The closest I have found is from Ultimate Survival. Some assembly is required, but it's very intuitive.

The newest version of the SOL Scout Kit is a great building block. I'm not sure about the PSP, don't recall seeing it so you might be right.

As far as I can tell it's been discontinued by AMK. Please note I do not speak for AMK or Doug.
