An excellent source! Now in its 9th edition, first published in 1960, it gave me a lot of good pointers, buying the 1st edition in 1962. Although concentrating on mountaineering, much within the volume is good advice for anyone using the outdoors.

It is interesting to compare volumes and realize how techniques and attitudes have evolved over the years.....
