Depending on the location, losing just one lug nut can turn an annoyance into a survival situation. Losing all of them definitely ups the risk. I think the take home message from that scene is what may "slip out" can have very major consequences and so one should strive to control themselves even in non-emergencies.

For another "non-survival survival movie" I suggest "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles". It shows the importance of improvisation, open-mindedness, maintaining a positive attitude, and dressing for the weather.

Take one lug nut off each of the other three wheels. And then drive home very slowly.
