I've practiced donning the carrier and it's pretty quick. I have hardened the perimeter as much as possible; no one can get through my door quickly or quietly. That's the point of home security IMO; you're not going to keep out a determined person, you can just slow them down and make it a difficult process, encouraging them to go elsewhere. So if I'm home and someone is working on gaining access it should give me a bit of time to prepare.

It's not perfect but I don't want to let perfect be the enemy of the good. When out and about there are limited measures that can be done to enhance personal security (eg don't go to stupid places to do stupid things with stupid people, avoid distractions in public places, work on situational awareness, etc). But at home you have the luxury of taking more steps to stack the deck in your favor.

In all likelihood I will never need it but the option is there. And armor is pretty cool. cool grin
