I went to a shop that sells MTB gear and got an actual mountain bike helmet ($169 !!!)

Glad you are OK

You remind me of an incident where I injured my arm and had to use some gauze and wrap it. It was almost hilarious; with one hand trying to wrap the arm and gauze roll just moving around the injured arm. LOL. I was 50% upset, and 50% amused.
