Why would (k)not a bowline, figure eight, or even a simple overhand knot work just as well? I use all of those in technical climbing and rigging applications. Properly tied and dressed, they do not slip, either.

Any knot which works well is attractive,IMHO.


If you are still looking for a loop and like the bowline, consider the Tucked Bowline.

A fine knot! In climbing circles, that knot is known as a bowline with a Yosemite finish - the extra tuck along the standing part provides additional security against untying....
