EMPnotImplyNuclear Enthusiast Registered: 09/10/08 Posts: 382	Hi Say you have a squishy rubber ring 1cm thick and you need a fixed loop to tie around you dont want to strangle/cut the rubber using polypropylene twine what knot do you choose and why?

Why would (k)not a bowline, figure eight, or even a simple overhand knot work just as well? I use all of those in technical climbing and rigging applications. Properly tied and dressed, they do not slip, either. Any knot which works well is attractive,IMHO. _________________________ Geezer in Chief

M_a_x Veteran Registered: 08/16/02 Posts: 1207 Loc: Germany	To some degree the answer is arbitrary. Many knots would do the trick. I might have suggested the bowline. It would be a matter of preference for me. _________________________ If it isn´t broken, it doesn´t have enough features yet.
