One course I took years ago really helps with understanding epidemics; https://www.edx.org/course/epidemics-i

They are running it again. It start today, but catching up is generally not an issue if you start later. It's given by the University of Hong Kong on the Edx platform. It's free if you skip the certification and assignments. It really does help with understanding how transmittable diseases and epidemics work.

Not affiliated in any way, just seems to fit right in with the current outbreak.
