Can anyone tell me anything about this product?? Does anyone have any experience with it? Good or bad?? Any info would be appreciated...it seems like it would be a good item to carry (in theory) but what are the drawbacks?

There was an extended discussion of this last year:

http://www.equipped.org/ubbthreads/showt...;sb=&o=

If you use the "Search" feature at the top of the page and type in "Quickclot" (set Date Range to "All Posts") you should find a lot of information.

The reports from Iraq and especially Afganistan are very good. I put it in my Gun Shot kit for the range and in my Trauma Bag. Brigade QM (www.actiongear.com) has 2 smaller sized packages ( 1.75 oz I think) that come in a larger over pack.Their price is pretty good, I think that Ranger Joe's may be a little cheaper, but I'm not sure if it's for 1 large pack or the 2 smaller. It's not cheap, but the life you save just might be your own. The quickClot people have good info available.
Someone is also selling new type field dressings and compact bulky gauze along with QuickClot. Take a look at their stuff. The gauze is vacum packed and takes up little space. Sorry I can't remember the company name.
