While I can understand why this guy reacted as he did, having been hassled repeatedly by the screenerNazis myself, I also follow the golden rule of travel as taught by my Mom - always wear clean underwear, just in case ...

Let's try for something simpler first.

Just wear underwear.

We can work on the 'clean' part.

I suspect he was just trying to get through the screening faster by showing he had nothing to hide. If they had suspected anything, they would have taken him to a room and done basically the same thing with 2 or more people in the room for witnesses. His way gave assurance to all in the vicinity that he was "clean".

I intend to win tonight's lottery. I am going to buy a big, fat, black and yellow prewar Rolls-Royce with a liveried english driver/factory trained mechanic. I will repose in the back behind drawn curtains with a very big revolver and Waterford crystal decanter of Armanac. There will be no cell phones or anything else that plays the japanese national anthem. The world needs a return to manners and civility. It's a tough job, but it might as well start with me.

I'd think very seriously of doing the same thing if it got me through more quickly and I wouldn't get busted.

While I realize that SOME people just can't function without flying, if everyone that was sick and tired of being treated like cattle would boycot the airlines for a month, and at the same time send a polite letter explaining why, things just might settle down. Buses, trains, rental cars, and cruise lines might not be as convenient, but they would get the job done long enough to prove a point. Sounds kind of like a strike, don't it? Heh, heh, heh.

P.S. yes, I know I'm baiting, somebody PLEASE answer this

The Grand Master strikes again!

Robert A. Heinlein envisioned such a possibility is his book (novella?) The Puppetmasters. In it, the only effective defense to being taken over & controlled by the slugs was nudity.

Sure hope we don't have to go that far. Where will I clip my knife?
